  • Responsibilities

    The Business Development Manager is responsible for executing business development strategies to secure new clients and maintain existing client relationships in specific market segments within the New York City metro area. This position reports to the Director of Business Development.

    Required Skills

    • Perform a comprehensive analysis of market potential and build a strong working knowledge of the strategic clients and projects within the respective NYC markets
    • Grow and manage an opportunity pipeline that is both broad in scope across market sectors and matches the value proposition of the Consigli CM model
    • Identify qualified opportunities through the development of strategic relationships with architects, developers, owners and owner project managers (OPMs)
    • Create and execute Account Plan strategies for key clients using knowledge of market, competitors and client’s needs
    • Participate in industry organizations and Trade Shows towards extending the Consigli brand and growing a network of contacts and potential clients
    • Actively manage and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to reflect real-time status of opportunities within the sales pursuit life-cycle and actions needed to win work
    • Facilitate the Go/No Go analysis/decision through a firm understanding of the opportunity value and fit for the Consigli CM model
    • Partner with Marketing team and provide the requisite customer insight for the response to request for proposals (RFPs) and bid opportunities
    • Prepare project teams in advance of client interviews with requisite customer info to ensure a successful interview experience

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing with 7+ years sales/business development experience preferably within the construction industry or B2B solutions
    • 5+ years of experience in the NYC commercial construction market highly desirable
    • Proven ability to develop and execute account strategies and work cross-functionally to drive these strategies and win work
    • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information at a summary and detailed level
