The Planning and Environmental Affairs Department is seeking a motivated graduate intern to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for students pursing a graduate degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, Public Administration or other related field. The Planning and Environmental Affairs Department manages all environmental-related programs, including Airport planning and environmental review, regulatory compliance, water and air quality, site remediation, hazardous material handling and natural resources protection. The department interfaces with other Airport Authority departments to assess potential environmental impacts of all proposed projects.
The Airport Authority is committed to environmental sustainability by fostering a culture of environmental accountability through its programs and projects. The Airport Authority is focused on the triple-bottom line of financial, social, and environmental impact. This internship will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience assisting with various environmental programs and sustainability initiatives, as well as exposure to the aviation industry and personal and professional development.
The selected individual will work part-time (approximately 20 hours per week, up to a six-month duration). The position will provide support and research to the team and work on various environmental programs and sustainability initiatives. Representative tasks include, but are not limited to:
