    LINUX ADMINISTRATOR (SYSTEMS PROGRAM ARCHITECT)  

    PERM – FULL TIME JOB / GREATER BOSTON AREA / WORCESTER, MA

    HYBRID MODEL – FEW DAYS WORK FROM HOME, FEW DAYS WORK FROM OFFICE

    $130K + EXCELLENT BENEFITS

    -10+  years IT exp, with direct responsibility for network and or computer system architecture design.  Expertise with RedHat Linux 6,7 and 8.  Managing VMWare environment using vSphere

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum 10 years IT experience, of which include direct responsibility for network and/or computing system architecture design, development, implementation, and administration.  

    8+ years experience in RHEL, VMWARE platform, Internet technologies, personal computers, WebSphere, Tomcat, including LANs is preferred. Proficiency in programming/scripting using high-level languages is preferred.

     BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Expertise with RedHat Linux 6, 7 and 8
    • Managing VMware environment using vSphere,
    • Expertise with patch management tools Satellite, Yum and Spacewalk
    • Experience with container technologies and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Swarm) is a plus
    • Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and implementation for critical IT systems, including VMware.
    • Expertise with Active Directory
    • Expertise with networking concept and terms such as TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP; SMTP; NTP; UDP; HTTP; SSH; syslog;
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Collaborate with DevOps team to roll out and automate configuration & release of builds to Production
    • Develop tools and scripts to assist with routine maintenance tasks, using tools like Ansible or Puppet
    • Plan and support the implementation of major architectural changes
    • Experience scripting with bash, Perl, Python
    • Expertise in tuning and maintaining Linux servers
    • Ability to quickly assess the health and availability of critical system, network and storage components. Tools like CA Products Spectrum, or UIM are desired. Splunk knowledge is preferred. Dynatrace background a plus.
    • Extensive/Expert knowledge of Linux system administration (specifically RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu), remote system management using SSH and VPN, Shell/FTP/User group account and permissions management
    • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) beneficial
    • Experience working within Agile development methodology beneficial
