    The Opportunity

    As an Intermediate Fraud Prevention and Detection Specialist at USAA, you will play a crucial role in detecting and preventing fraudulent activities on a wide range of financial products and services. You will analyze high-risk transactions, review suspected fraudulent activity, and take action to protect our members. Your work will contribute to the security and well-being of our members and their assets.

    This position is a hybrid role, meaning you will be required to work in the office 3-4 days per week. The position can be based in San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Tampa, FL. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position.

    What You'll Do:

    • Use various fraud management tools and systems to identify and investigate suspicious activity across multiple products and services.
    • Contact members to review suspicious activity and take appropriate actions to mitigate risk and protect their assets.
    • Utilize your knowledge of bank operations and regulations to prevent, detect, and mitigate fraudulent activity.
    • Report confirmed fraud and identify improvement opportunities to enhance fraud prevention and detection.
    • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures.

    What You Have:

    • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
    • 1 year of fraud prevention/detection experience in a financial services environment.
    • Experience working with Fraud Case Management Tools/Systems.
    • Knowledge of bank operations and regulations related to funds availability, check kiting, and check fraud.
    • Strong attention to detail and a focus on data privacy and accuracy.
    • Customer service orientation with analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
    • Familiarity with federal laws, rules, and regulations such as Reg CC, Reg E, or Reg Z (preferred).

    What Sets You Apart:

    • 2 years of experience with fraud detection.
    • 2 years of experience with Reg CC and Reg E.
    • 2 years of customer service experience in a financial institution.
    • Experience with ECAMS and Safire.
    • Experience with various types of fraud, including ID Theft, First Party Fraud, and Account Takeover.
    • Military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.

    What We Offer:

    Compensation: USAA ensures competitive compensation by regularly assessing market data and establishing salary ranges based on experience and market data for each position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $45,010.00 - $64,310.00.

    Employees may be eligible for performance-based pay incentives determined by corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
