ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND As an On-Demand team member, you have the flexibility to work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is perfect for those who want a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand team member, you won't be included in the regular weekly schedule. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts that are posted by leaders or other team members. You can use our myTime mobile scheduling app to find shifts that work best with your availability. We expect you to actively engage in picking up and working shifts, as well as responding to our attempts at contact. We'll contact you throughout the year to confirm your interest and availability for shifts. If we don't receive a response, we will terminate your employment with Target. Regular attendance is necessary, and you must work at least one shift within 6 months to maintain your employment. Your communication skills and ability to work when we need you the most are crucial for success in this role. If offered a position as an On-Demand team member, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and go through a short-term structured training schedule to prepare you for your new role. After that, you can use the myTime mobile scheduling app to pick up the shifts you want to work. ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT As a Guest Advocate, you'll focus on providing excellent guest service. You'll welcome guests, exceed their expectations, and help them with any needs or concerns. You'll be knowledgeable about the products, services, and features we offer to enhance the guest experience. Your goal is to make shopping easy and seamless for guests at various areas within the store. Being a Guest Advocate means no two days are ever the same. However, your typical responsibilities may include: - Creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests - Recognizing when a guest needs assistance and tailoring your approach accordingly - Engaging with guests to understand their specific needs - Solving issues for guests and improving their experience by utilizing your knowledge of the store's tools, products, and services - Thanking guests and showing appreciation for choosing Target - Scanning and bagging items efficiently and following food safety standards - Minimizing guest wait time while maintaining accuracy and guest service - Informing guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events - Promoting the benefits of the Target RedCard and assisting guests with the application process - Familiarizing guests with fulfillment services and demonstrating how to use the Target App features - Handling returns and de-escalating negative situations to ensure a positive guest shopping experience - Providing easy and seamless service to guests using Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry services - Maintaining a clean work area and stocking supplies during store open hours - Demonstrating ethical conduct, safety, and compliance - Working in a safe manner, identifying and correcting hazards, and following safety policies and best practices - Supporting guest services such as order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) while maintaining compliance with laws related to adult beverages - Performing any other duties as needed to meet business requirements WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR You might be a great fit if: - Working in a fun and energetic environment excites you - Providing excellent service to guests makes you feel proud - Interacting with people all day and making things easy for others is something you enjoy - You prefer a dynamic work schedule, including weekends and holidays While we offer amazing training to help you succeed as a Guest Advocate, there are a few skills we expect you to have: - Effective communication and attentive to guests' needs - Welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members - Attention to detail while multitasking - Willingness to educate guests about products and services - Ability to adapt to evolving technology - Capability to work independently and as part of a team We care about our team members and want to be clear on a few more important details: - Accurately handling cash transactions and operating cash registers - Efficiently and safely handling merchandise, including lifting up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally - Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and regular attendance is required - As an On-Demand team member, you have the freedom to work as much or as little as you like. However, active engagement is expected, including picking up and working shifts through the myTime mobile app. We will contact you throughout the year and terminate employment if we don't receive a response.
