    Job Description

    Job Opportunity: ETL / Data Engineering Application Development Manager

    We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as an ETL / Data Engineering Application Development Manager. In this role, you will lead a team and work closely with the Technology team to implement new or improved application systems and programs. Your primary responsibility will be to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and lead one or more Applications Development teams, including performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions
    • Provide technical oversight across systems and applications, utilizing your in-depth knowledge and skills
    • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
    • Contribute to the development of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of how different areas of business work together to achieve goals
    • Make evaluative judgments based on factual data in complex and unique situations
    • Monitor the delivery of results, manage budgets, handle staff management issues, and allocate work within the team
    • Ensure adherence to procedures and standards, and negotiate with external parties when necessary
    • Assess risks and make decisions that align with compliance standards and ethical practices
    • Serve as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts
    • Maintain a compliant environment by keeping servers and applications up to date
    • Lead annual disaster recovery exercises
    • Initiate and lead data purging efforts by collaborating with business groups

    Qualifications:

    • 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
    • Previous experience as an Applications Development Manager
    • Senior-level experience in applications development
    • Experience in stakeholder and people management
    • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
    • Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with Data Warehouse/ETL design and development methodologies
    • Expertise in AbInitio tool (EME, GDE, Co-op) and traditional RDBMS systems
    • Proficiency in Unix shell scripting
    • Working knowledge of various technologies such as Redhat, Snowflake, Teradata, Hadoop, Kafka, AppDynamics, Splunk, MongoDB, Jenkins, NAS, SAN
    • Experience with infrastructure setup and maintenance
    • Previous experience in the Mortgage Originations and Servicing domain is a plus
    • Extensive system analysis and programming experience
    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
    • Knowledge and development experience in BigData technologies is a plus
    • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements is a plus

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
    • Master's degree is preferred
