About the Role: Medical Assistant As a medical assistant at Mayo Clinic, you will play a crucial role in providing direct and indirect care to patients in an outpatient setting. Working under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor, you will be a valued member of our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include carrying out tasks assigned in accordance with patient care plans, organizational policies, and the principles of relationship-based care. You will have the opportunity to support patients and their families, accepting appropriate delegation from registered nurses or physicians. Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED equivalent - Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program - If graduation was more than two years ago, one year of recent medical assistant experience is required - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Experience working in a team environment - Computer proficiency with prior experience in electronic medical record systems - Ability to work daytime hours, with flexibility to meet staffing needs - Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting License or Certification: - Arizona: Basic Life Support (BLS) competency and active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required - Florida: Basic Life Support (BLS) competency and active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred - Midwest: Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred, along with active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) What We Offer: - Nonexempt employment status - Competitive compensation ranging from $17.67 to $23.88 per hour - Eligibility for comprehensive benefits - Full-time position with 64 hours per pay period - Monday to Friday day shift with clinic-based hours - No weekend schedule required - No international assignments About Mayo Clinic: Mayo Clinic has expanded beyond our Minnesota roots and now has major campuses in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, Jacksonville, Florida, and Rochester, Minnesota.
