Responsibilities

• Neurosurgery is currently offering a new hire incentive of $15,000 for new employees, with relocation benefits available.
• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of a registered nurse and alongside the surgical team. Their main role is to prepare, select, and maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies. The CST applies sterile and aseptic techniques and possesses knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgical technology. They may work in various surgical specialties as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of hire date.
• If graduated from a non-accredited program, at least one year of surgical tech experience within the last 5 years in a relevant care setting is required.

Additional qualifications

• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the perioperative setting.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse individuals.
• Comprehensive understanding of surgical processes and procedures is preferred.
• Two years of successful surgical technologist experience within the last five years in acute care, perioperative, or surgical setting is preferred.

License or certification

• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• CST Certification through NBSTSA required within one year of hire date.

Minimum rate is $25.63 based upon union contract.

Schedule Details

The schedule may vary, and there are 8-hour and 12-hour shifts available depending on the position. Start times can range from 7am to 11pm, and there may be a requirement for call, weekend, and holiday shifts depending on the position.
