    All About On Demand

    As an On-Demand Team Member (TM) at Target, you have the flexibility to work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule.

    As an On-Demand TM, you won't be included on the posted weekly schedule. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts that work best for you, as posted by leaders or other team members using our myTime mobile scheduling app. We require your active engagement by picking up and working shifts and promptly responding to our contact attempts.

    We will reach out to you throughout the year using the contact information you provide to confirm your availability and interest in working shifts at Target. It's important to respond to our communication. Failure to respond may result in the termination of your employment. Regular attendance is necessary, and you must work at least one shift within 6 months to maintain your employment.

    Communication and availability are critical to success in this role. If offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and participate in a short-term structured training schedule to ensure you are prepared for your new role. After that, you can use the myTime mobile scheduling app to pick up the shifts you desire to work.

    We are looking for individuals who are advocates of guest experience. In this role, you will welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations. You'll also focus on guest interaction and recovery and be knowledgeable about both physical and digital services and solutions. As a team member, you will make shopping effortless and seamless for guests at various areas in the store.

    As a Guest Advocate, you'll have the opportunity to:

    • Communicate and interact with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
    • Blend problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve concerns
    • Adapt to different guest interactions and situations
    • Promote and sell various benefits, offerings, and services

    A typical day as a Guest Advocate at Target may include the following responsibilities:

    • Demonstrating a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience
    • Creating a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
    • Observing and understanding if guests need assistance or want to interact
    • Engaging with guests in a genuine way and asking questions to understand their specific needs
    • Being knowledgeable about tools, products, and services in the store to improve the guest experience
    • Thanking guests in a genuine way and expressing appreciation for choosing to shop at Target
    • Efficiently scanning and bagging guest items in compliance with food safety standards
    • Working efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy
    • Informing guests about brand launches, store activities, and events
    • Promoting the Target RedCard and assisting guests in applying for it
    • Assisting guests with enrollment, activation, and use of fulfillment services
    • Showcasing features and offerings within the Target App
    • Handling returns and following register prompts to resolve issues
    • De-escalating negative situations and ensuring a positive guest shopping experience
    • Providing seamless service to Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
    • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
    • Following safety and compliance protocols
    • Supporting guest services such as order pick up and drive-up
    • Performing other duties as needed

    • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
