    Your role as an On-Demand Team Member (TM)

    As an On-Demand TM, you have the flexibility to work as much or as little as you like, depending on shift availability and store needs. This is an ideal opportunity if you're looking for a personalized work schedule. Instead of being included on the posted weekly schedule, you can create your own schedule by picking up shifts that best align with your availability using our myTime mobile scheduling app.

    We require your active engagement by regularly picking up and working shifts, as well as responding to our communication attempts. Regular attendance is necessary, and it's important to work at least one shift within 6 months to maintain your employment with Target.

    If you are offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short-term structured training schedule to ensure you are well-prepared for your role. After that, you can use the myTime mobile scheduling app to select the shifts you prefer to work.

    About the Service & Engagement team

    The Service & Engagement team at Target is dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences. We welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations in both physical and digital interactions. Our goal is to make shopping effortless and seamless for guests at various areas within the store, such as checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up, and drive-up.

    This role as a Guest Advocate offers meaningful experiences and opportunities for growth. You will have the chance to communicate and interact with guests in an inclusive manner, solve problems, promote benefits and offerings, and contribute to guest loyalty.

    Your responsibilities as a Guest Advocate may include:

    • Delivering exceptional guest service by prioritizing the guest experience
    • Greeting guests and identifying their needs through observation and attentive communication
    • Providing genuine engagement and assistance to meet specific guest needs
    • Being knowledgeable about products, services, and tools to enhance the guest experience
    • Thanking guests and making them feel appreciated for choosing Target
    • Efficiently scanning and bagging items, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
    • Reducing guest wait time while ensuring accuracy
    • Informing guests about brand launches, store activities, and upcoming events
    • Promoting the Target RedCard and assisting guests with the application process
    • Familiarizing guests with fulfillment services, such as Order Pick Up and Drive Up, and helping them enroll and use these services
    • Guiding guests on using the Target App and its features and offerings
    • Processing returns, resolving concerns, and ensuring guest satisfaction
    • Providing easy and seamless service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
    • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
    • Practicing ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
    • Supporting guest services such as order pick up (OPU) and drive-up (DU) while adhering to applicable laws and regulations
    • Performing other duties as business needs require

    Additional requirements:

    • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
    • Physical ability to handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Active engagement by picking up and working shifts via the myTime mobile app and responding to communication attempts
    • Timely response to our contact attempts throughout the year
    • Regular attendance, including working at least one shift within 6 months
