Job Responsibilities: - The Clinical Hemodialysis Technician will work primarily at the NE Clinic but may occasionally support other dialysis locations such as Wabasha. - As part of the Mayo Clinic Dialysis Services (MCDS) team, the technician plays a crucial role in meeting patient and family care needs. - Under the supervision of registered nurses, responsibilities include direct patient care, basic hemodialysis procedures, equipment maintenance, and more. - The technician also performs laboratory tests, monitors water treatment and vascular access, and participates in quality improvement activities. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Completion of a certified nursing assistant training course OR one year of direct patient care experience OR one semester of clinical coursework as an RN student OR completion of a Dialysis Technician training program. - Successful completion of the Ishihara's color blindness test before employment. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Computer literacy, preferably with experience using electronic medical record systems. - Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and work flexible hours. Licenses/Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network. - Successful completion of Clinical Hemodialysis Technician national certification exam within 18 months of hire (if hired after October 14, 2008). Exam offered by the State, BONENT, or NNCC. Compensation and Benefits: - Salary range: $20.64 - $29.12 per hour (dependent on education, experience, and tenure). - Eligible for comprehensive benefits package. Work Schedule: - Full-time position. - 72 hours per pay period. - Shifts varying between Monday and Saturday, with extended 12-hour shifts starting between 4:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. - Every other Friday and Saturday off.
