Position Responsibilities: - This position welcomes both experienced nurses and recent nursing graduates. - Location: Infusion Therapy Center – Eisenberg 8G - Patient Care Type: The Infusion Therapy specialty area operates daily from 7:00 am – 11:30 pm in the ambulatory Infusion Therapy Center. - Bed #: 43 - Nursing Team Roles: Infusion Therapy nurses specialize in intravenous medication administration, vascular access care and maintenance, PICC line placement and care. They also serve as a resource for the Department of Nursing and the institution on vascular access care and troubleshooting. The Infusion Therapy Center offers a wide range of infusion therapies including IV medication, IM injection, blood product administration, and therapeutic phlebotomy. - For new grad nurses: All newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of practice experience, hired into a scheduled FTE Registered Nurse position on the Rochester campus of Mayo Clinic are automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program. A separate application or enrollment process is not required. All nurses new to Mayo Clinic, regardless of experience, will receive an extensive orientation program. - The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across different settings and throughout the continuum of care to meet the needs of patients and their families. The RN will operate within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which emphasizes planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The RN takes on leadership roles, participates in quality improvement efforts, and delegates patient care based on factors such as skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. The RN possesses excellent communication skills, mentoring abilities, and may contribute to committees or projects. Some employees may occasionally need to use their personal vehicle for work purposes. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status who are eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. However, this role is not eligible for the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or an equivalent certification. Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a nursing program. - All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with an RN start date of April 1, 2020, and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date. - Additional qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience working in a team environment, computer skills (prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred), adaptability to unpredictable situations, and flexibility in working hours. - Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals. - License or certification: Must obtain prior to the start date: current RN license as required by the applicable state, Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers (BCLS) with a certificate of course completion that does not expire within 3 months after the start date. Acceptable certificates of course completion are provided by the American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider), Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers), or Military Training Network. Additional specialty certification or training may be required based on the work area. Exemption Status: Nonexempt Benefits Eligible: Yes Schedule: Full Time Hours/Pay Period: 64 - 72 Schedule Details: Variable schedule including days, evenings, nights, and 8- or 12-hour shifts. Available schedule options will be discussed during the interview. Weekend Schedule: Available weekend scheduling options will be discussed during the interview.
