Position Mission :
We are seeking a Content Data Analyst – Vehicle Application Specialist to support our catalog data analytics initiatives for vehicle application parts look-up. In this role, you will collaborate with technology development and project teams to refine and apply data models for NAPA Catalog applications in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. You will work with business representatives to implement new processes and systems affected by our catalog analytics efforts. Your main responsibility will be to monitor and maintain all catalog vehicle application data for NAPA products.
Position Performance Measures:
- Ensure accurate maintenance of part number applications from suppliers.
- Prevent any loss of coverage on part number applications.
- Ensure timely receipt of all catalog data before announcing new part numbers.
- Ensure suppliers address data discrepancies and participate in score card reviews.
Responsibilities:
As a Content Data Analyst – Vehicle Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
- Analyze vehicle application data provided by NAPA Suppliers to ensure accuracy and validity.
- Exercise judgment in enforcing NAPA Data Standards and reject supplier data that does not adhere to these standards or poses a risk or liability to NAPA, its stores, or customers.
- Manage the relationship with NAPA Suppliers to protect them and NAPA from false or inaccurate data that could result in negative consequences.
- Create Manufacturers Product Class Codes using information from suppliers and/or your own automotive knowledge.
- Provide analytics on missing coverage, OE data management, and sister vehicle coverage to business management.
- Analyze coverage between premium and value product lines to prevent sales loss due to missing application data.
- Ensure no duplicate or excessive supplier application data to maintain optimal sales performance.
- Validate NAPA Supplier Interchange data and ensure regular updates.
- Implement and enforce the NAPA Discrepancy Policy with suppliers, including managing discrepancies, communication, response time, and fines if necessary.
- Ensure adherence to NAPA Paper Catalog Standards and handle any non-compliance issues with suppliers.
- Proficiently use MS Excel, Word, and learn to work in the NAPA Catalog PIM (Product Information System).
- Availability to travel within the United States and Canada.
- Represent the company (NAPA, APG) in a professional and respectful manner in all interactions with suppliers, employees, and customers.
- Perform any assigned tasks as directed by management.
Typical Tasks and Processes include:
Load Application Records
- Use validation tools for error-checking, review errors, deletes/no adds, and confusing records.
Load Interchange Records
- Compare counts, check for complete OE interchange, and compare data with similar suppliers and competitor websites.
Review Supplier Application Data
- Run missing coverage reports, compare data between Canada and the US, and compare data from similar suppliers.
Category Management
- Ensure consistent display of supplier data in a specific category using the same specific conditions/comments.
Supplier Application Audit
- Review supplier website for data comparison and discrepancies, including comparing with competitor websites.
Maintain Discrepancies
- Process and resolve discrepancies.
Create MPCC Codes
- Ensure consistency between similar part types and check for possible thesaurus entries.
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Check monthly DVD, PPSE Builds, and Epicor Builds.
NRF Reports
- Review and resolve NFR reports.
Experience, Education, and Abilities
- Minimum High School Education
- 2 years or more of College is a plus.
- 2+ years of work experience in the automotive sector (retail store, repair shop, manufacturing).
- 2+ years of experience in automotive standards "ACES" and "PIES".
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Strong skills in data exploration, manipulation, and visualization.
- Passion for the automotive industry is a plus.
Work will be performed in a typical office environment.
