Position Mission: Manage the Stockroom personnel and operations to ensure safe and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing freight. Promote a positive safety culture and strive to achieve sales goals. Position Performance Measures: - Meeting profit quota - Maintaining payroll percentage to sales - Achieving sales quota - Ensuring high service level - Controlling turnover - Maximizing productivity per employee - Meeting shipping targets Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations and service level of the Stockroom, ensuring production and quality standards are met. - Address issues and propose improvements for stockroom systems. - Optimize space utilization through a product locator system. - Coordinate inventory counts and ensure accuracy. - Maintain warehouse security and ensure employee safety. - Supervise contract drivers and ensure high-quality service. - Communicate regularly with Operations Manager on business matters. - Improve customer service methods and meet productivity targets. - Support sales growth by providing efficient and excellent customer service. - Implement service improvement initiatives. - Balance productivity and payroll to maintain profitability. - Develop and foster teamwork and employee development. - Coach employees to increase productivity levels. - Communicate regularly with employees through various channels. - Create a respectful and collaborative work environment. - Collaborate with HR on hiring, development, and promotional opportunities. - Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly. - Maintain good relationships with Store Owners and Managers. - Assist with other assignments as needed. Experience, Education, and Abilities: - High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Proficiency in MRP systems and work order/stockroom management systems. - 5 years of experience in a distribution center environment. - Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent organization skills with attention to detail. - Ability to supervise a team of 10 or more. - Motivate and challenge employees, delegate tasks, and measure performance. - Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a fast-paced environment. - Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivated. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure. - Experience with material handling equipment and heavy machinery. - Computer skills: Email (Outlook preferable), Excel, knowledge of DPC400 and RADS is a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment: - Constant awareness of moving vehicles and equipment. - Moderate noise level in the work environment. - Occasional exposure to varying temperatures and mechanical parts. - Stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling may be required. - Lifting up to 40 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs occasionally. - Dexterity and ability to reach, handle, and feel. - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. - Clear communication through speaking, writing, and hearing.
