    About the On-Demand Position

    As an On-Demand Team Member (TM) at Target, you have the flexibility to work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule.

    As an On-Demand TM, you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts that work best for you. Shifts will be posted by leaders or other team members through our myTime mobile scheduling app. Regular attendance and active engagement in picking up and working shifts are necessary for this role.

    Should you be offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and participate in a short-term structured training schedule to ensure you are well-prepared for your new role. After that, you can use the myTime mobile scheduling app to pick up the shifts you desire to work.

    About Service & Engagement

    As a Guest Advocate at Target, you will be an advocate for the guest experience, going above and beyond to exceed guest service expectations. You will focus on guest interaction and recovery, both in-person and through digital services and solutions. This role involves promoting and selling various benefits, offerings, and services to enhance the guest experience and drive guest loyalty.

    Responsibilities

    A typical day as a Guest Advocate may include the following:

    • Deliver excellent guest service by authentically greeting and welcoming all guests
    • Quickly understand if a guest needs assistance or wants to interact, and tailor your approach accordingly
    • Engage in genuine conversations with guests to understand their specific needs
    • Be knowledgeable about the products, services, and tools available in the store to solve guest issues and improve their experience
    • Thank guests sincerely and let them know we appreciate their choice to shop at Target
    • Efficiently scan and bag guest items while maintaining food safety standards
    • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy in service
    • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
    • Promote and assist guests with applying for the Target RedCard
    • Explain and demonstrate how to use Wallet and other features within the Target App
    • Handle returns and follow register prompts, focusing on making it right for the guest
    • De-escalate negative situations and ensure a positive guest experience
    • Provide easy and seamless service to Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
    • Maintain a clean work area and stock supplies during store open hours
    • Follow ethical conduct, safety, and compliance guidelines at all times
    • Support guest services such as order pick up and drive-up while complying with legal regulations regarding adult beverages
    • Perform other duties based on business needs

    Additional Requirements

    • Accurately handle cash register operations and transactions
    • Efficiently and safely handle and move merchandise, including lifting or moving up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally
    • Must have a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
    • As an On-Demand TM, actively engage by picking up and working shifts through our myTime mobile app and respond to our contact attempts. Failure to do so may result in administrative termination of employment. You must work at least one shift within 6 months.
