    Job Description

    Job Summary: We are looking for someone who will inspire and support scholars from all backgrounds to achieve their dreams, contribute to our community, and continue learning throughout their lives. In this role, you will develop and communicate our custodial service model to all stakeholders. You will also be responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating custodial employees. Working with our facilities operations team and industry experts, you will ensure that we have the right equipment and tools to maximize efficiency and protect our assets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Design and conduct training for new custodial hires. - Assess and propose equipment needs for custodial and maintenance tasks. - Inform new hires about workplace safety and our system policies and procedures. - Communicate and demonstrate our housekeeping standards to building operations supervisors and engineers. - Establish sustainable housekeeping standards in collaboration with the facilities operations team and stakeholders. - Set goals, observe, collect data, and assess the performance of custodians. - Inspect the quality of custodial work to ensure it meets our standards. - Conduct research and collaborate with the custodial/maintenance team and industry experts to find efficient and effective housekeeping methods. - Perform routine performance evaluations for custodial staff and building engineers. - Coordinate summer cleaning programs and district-wide custodial staff trainings. - Maintain facility maps related to maintenance and upkeep. - Use preventive maintenance software to uphold PM standards at all sites. - Communicate preventative maintenance expectations and train custodial staff on procedures. - Manage special services teams, including paint and carpet crews, floaters, and summer casual staff. - Assist in maintaining painting and carpet replacement schedules. - Post, screen, interview, and hire custodial team members. - Organize regular meetings with building engineers to address common areas of interest, staff development, and collaboration. - Perform other similar duties as assigned. Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED. - Skills in planning, designing, and delivering training. - Excellent written and oral communication. - Strong supervision, analysis, and assessment abilities. - Collaborative problem-solving skills. - Minimum of eight years of experience in housekeeping and facilities equipment management. - Minimum of five years of management experience or a combination of college degree and relevant experience. Physical requirements: - Must be able to perform all physical activities required of a custodian. - Capable of working in confined spaces. - Capable of working at heights. Licenses/Certifications: - First Class Boilers with a chief boilers license within three years. - CPO certification within one year. - Preferred EPA underground tank certification within one year. Salary: View salary grids in the Management Personnel I-M agreement. Salary Range: $90,433 - $102,462. Work Schedule: 225 work year. Job type or FTE: Full-time.
