Job Description As a pharmacy technician at Cooper University Health Care, you will play a crucial role in accurately and promptly preparing medications, including IV medications, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Your responsibilities will also include restocking automated dispensing devices and carousels, fulfilling floor stock requisitions, conducting inspections of expired medications, answering phone inquiries regarding dispensing, ensuring proper delivery of medications, organizing the storeroom, and managing bulk fluid inventory. You will need to be familiar with hospital information systems. Experience Requirements To be successful in this role, you must possess a Pharmacy Technician National Certification (PTCB) or have more than 10 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting. You should also hold a current registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy or be eligible for registration upon employment. Basic pharmaceutical calculation skills are also desired. Education Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. License/Certification Requirements Candidates must be registered with the NJ Board of Pharmacy within the first 10 days of employment. Within 180 days of hire, individuals must complete the registration process and become an active licensed Pharmacy Technician. A Pharmacy Technician National Certification (PTCB) is also required.
