About On-Demand:

As an On-Demand team member, you have the flexibility to work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand team member, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule. Instead, you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members through our myTime mobile scheduling app. We require your active engagement by picking up and working shifts and responding to our attempts at contact. Regular attendance is necessary, and you must work at least one shift within 6 months to maintain your employment with Target.

If offered a position as an On-Demand team member, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and a short-term structured training schedule to prepare you for your role. After that, you can use the myTime mobile scheduling app to pick up shifts based on your availability and preference.

About Service & Engagement:

We are looking for team members who are advocates for the guest experience. As a Guest Advocate, your role is to welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction and recovery. You will be knowledgeable about the different services and solutions we offer, both in-store and digitally, to enhance the guest experience and build guest loyalty. You will make shopping effortless and seamless for guests at various touchpoints.

As a Guest Advocate, you will have the opportunity to:

• Communicate and interact with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
• Blend problem-solving and decision-making skills to positively impact the guest experience and address guest concerns
• Adapt to different guest interactions and situations
• Promote and sell various benefits, offerings, and services to guests

In this role, no two days are the same, but a typical day may include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrating a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience
• Creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests authentically
• Observing and understanding if a guest needs assistance or wants to interact, tailoring your approach accordingly
• Engaging with guests in a genuine way and asking questions to understand their specific needs
• Being knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve the guest experience
• Thanking the guest sincerely and expressing gratitude for choosing to shop at Target
• Efficiently scanning and bagging guest items while following food safety standards
• Working efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy
• Informing guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
• Promoting the Target RedCard and assisting guests with the application process
• Providing information and assistance with fulfillment services, such as Order Pick Up and Drive Up
• Helping guests with navigating Wallet and other features and offerings within the Target App
• Handling returns and resolving any negative situations while following Target's policies and procedures
• Delivering easy and seamless service to guests utilizing services like Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry
• Maintaining a clean and clutter-free work area
• Demonstrating ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Working safely and identifying and addressing hazards
• Supporting guest services, such as order pick up and drive-up, while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
• Performing other duties based on business needs

Additional expectations:

• Accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
• Efficiently and safely handle and move merchandise, including lifting or moving items up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Have a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and maintain regular attendance
• As an On-Demand team member, be actively engaged by picking up and working shifts through the myTime mobile app and responding to our contact attempts
