Responsibilities As a Healthcare Engineering Tech 1, your role will be to maintain medical and clinical equipment using the Medical Equipment Management Plan and current asset management software. You will be responsible for tasks such as installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment and systems. It is important to ensure that the equipment is reliable, accurate, and of high quality to provide safe patient care. You may receive service calls directly from equipment users, which often require a quick response time. Your ability to prioritize work, be available for overtime and on-call rotation, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills are key. On-the-job and manufacturer training will be provided to enhance your specialized knowledge. Being highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently or in a team environment is crucial for success in this role. Qualifications To be considered for this position, you should have at least an associate's degree, preferably from an accredited electronics school, or electronics training in the military. Prior knowledge or training in medical equipment, operating systems, basic networking, medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology is desirable. You must have authorization to work and remain in the United States without the need for Mayo Clinic sponsorship. Exemption Status Nonexempt Compensation Detail The compensation for this role ranges from $28.79 to $38.87 per hour. Benefits Eligible Yes Schedule This is a full-time position. Hours/Pay Period You will work 80 hours per pay period. Schedule Details The typical work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. However, there may be additional work outside these hours based on department needs and participation in a rotating on-call schedule. Weekend Schedule Weekends may be required as needed.
