As a Body Shop Technician with Penske, your main responsibility will be to perform minor and, with supervision, major repairs on trucks and trailers that have been involved in collisions. Major Responsibilities:
- Perform minor electrical system repairs, surface preparation for refinishing, minor cab accessory repair/replacement, and minor cargo box repairs or replacements - Under supervision, assist with the removal, replacement, and repair of major components of trucks and trailers - Maintain a safe and clean work area - Complete other assigned projects and tasks as directed by your supervisor
Qualifications:
- Preferred: 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience - High School Diploma or equivalent required - Vocational/technical school preferred - Preferred: Certification of completion of technical school specializing in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer - Preferred: Working knowledge of tools of trade including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools - Valid driver's license required - Basic computer skills required - Must comply with specific instructions, guidelines, and rules established by Penske management - Must adhere to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies - Must have regular, predictable, full attendance
Physical Requirements:
- Regular movement, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods - Routine use of hands to operate tools and controls - Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions - Adequate vision and hearing to navigate the work environment safely - Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg on a regular basis and occasionally up to 100lbs/45kg This position is open to candidates of all backgrounds, and Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
