    Job Description

    Clinical Research Coordinator 2 - Job Opportunity

    The Department of Neurology at Stanford University is looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Clinical Research Coordinator 2. In this role, you will conduct clinical research and work independently on progressively more complex projects. You will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of our research studies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the recruitment and enrollment of research participants, utilizing effective strategies to promote and retain participants in long-term clinical trials.

    • Manage data collection, organization, reporting, and monitoring for research projects. Analyze and interpret data.

    • Develop project schedules, targets, and measurements. Lead team meetings and provide necessary documentation.

    • Supervise, train, and mentor new staff or students. Assist with performance evaluations and provide guidance on project work.

    • Ensure compliance with regulations by auditing laboratory procedures. Implement corrective actions when necessary. Monitor Institutional Review Board submissions and respond to inquiries.

    • Collaborate with principal investigators and study sponsors. Monitor and report serious adverse events and resolve study-related issues.

    • Identify and implement improvements to policies and processes. Define best practices.

    • Develop study budgets in collaboration with staff and principal investigator. Track patient milestones and invoice sponsors accordingly.

    • Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance by regularly inspecting study documents.

    • Submit Investigational New Drug applications to the FDA (when applicable) and complete Institutional Review Board renewals.

    • Other duties may also be assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of clinical research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications.
    • Experience with research protocols and regulatory/governing bodies (e.g., HIPAA and FDA regulations, Institutional Review Board requirements, Good Clinical Practices).
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Preferred certifications: Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals. California Driver's License may be required.

    Physical Requirements*:

    • Frequently standing, walking, bending, and using fine grasping.

    • Occasionally sitting, performing desk-based computer tasks, and lifting objects up to 40 pounds.

    • Rarely kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

    The expected salary range for this position is $72,000 to $92,000 per annum. The final offer will be based on factors such as job responsibilities, candidate qualifications, budget availability, and market rates.
