    Job Description

    Hiawatha Collegiate High School? (HCHS) seeking a dedicated Dean of Operations to join us for the 2023 - 2024 school year.

    Job Summary
    The Dean of Operations is responsible for setting a powerful vision for supporting student achievement through the management of campus operations. The Dean of Operations will manage school technology platforms, volunteer coordination, state reporting, finances, and other daily operations for HCHS. We passionately believe that smooth and effective operations allow the instructional team to focus on our instructional and community centered program. As a member of the HCHS school leadership team, this role will work in constant collaboration with the school principal.

    Responsibilities
    Instructional Leadership

    • Manages logistics for all assessment administration in collaboration with campus leadership team
    • Administers staff and student data platforms (e.g. Infinite Campus, Google, SharePoint, etc.)
    • Manages substitute system
    • Manages student report card logistics
    • Manages bell schedules, modified schedules, room assignments

    School Culture Leadership

    • Supports school culture systems and routines
    • Ensures effective communication structures with parents regarding student academic and behavioral intervention

    Team Leadership and Development

    • Hires, onboards, and develops Office Manger, Operations Coordinator, and food service staff
    • Leads operations team to provide best-in-class service to staff and families
    • Prepares all staff reimbursements for submission
    • Manages campus timesheet processing and submission
    • Manages PTO records systems
    • Serves as principal when principal is on leave or out of the building

    School Operations

    • Leads student attendance monitoring, communication, and intervention systems
    • Builds weekly memo for staff (with input from principal and other leadership team members)
    • Oversees supplies, inventorying, and manages Ops request system (ex. office, copier, uniforms)
    • Leads food service including food ordering, field trips, CLiCs for FFVP and SNP, & management of food service staff
    • Coordinates the campus-based collection of statewide reporting data and entry into online systems and ensure accuracy, Coordinate additional compliance with other agencies (e.g. MDE, MDH, etc.)
    • Collaborates with Principal on the management of the campus budget.
    • Manages financial expenditures and track budget including VPRs and CC coding
    • Manages all vendors and oversee all campus contracts and procurement systems from start to finish (ex. transportation, food service etc.)
    • Manages safety and security on campus and all school-wide safety drills
    • Manages facility compliance, inspection and major repairs

    Family Engagement

    • Sets the campus vision for student enrollment in coordination with the leadership team and the network Family Recruitment and Community Engagement Director
    • Lead parent engagement event logistics (Recruitment, Enrollment, Student orientation, Back to School Night, Report Cards, Family events, Conferences, and school communication with Parents )
    • Partner with network student recruitment team to align on messaging, shared engagement practices, and mobilization of families for student recruitment
    • Build connections between community partners and school

    The Dean of Operations must demonstrate knowledge of and support Hiawatha Academies’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to creatively develop and manage systems
