Please note: Individuals hired for this position must complete 2 years before being eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required - Knowledge of laboratory functions and medical terminology preferred, but not required - Background in science and 1-2 years of medical experience preferred - Previous experience or knowledge of computers, keyboarding, telephone operations, and office equipment desired - Ability to accurately read specimen labels and work with numbers - Must be organized, able to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment - Good communication skills, both oral and written - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Willingness to adapt to scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, and weekend work assignments - Attention to detail and adherence to strict safety requirements for handling chemicals, reagents, and infectious agents This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, except for TN visa classification. Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program Exemption Status: Nonexempt Compensation Detail: $17.20 - $23.09 per hour Benefits Eligible: Yes Schedule: Full-time Hours/Pay Period: 80 Schedule Details: Monday-Friday with 2 out of 4 Saturday shifts. Shift hours vary with start time ranging from 6:00am-7:30am depending on assignment. Weekend Schedule: 2 out of 4 Saturday shifts. The structure may be every other or two on, two off Saturdays depending on team scheduling needs.
