We are looking for a Research Administrator 1 (RA1) to join the Stanford Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Our department's mission is to improve women's and reproductive health through compassionate care, education, advocacy, and scientific discovery. We are dedicated to conducting high-level research in Obstetric and Gynecologic science and translating those findings into practical solutions. As a Research Administrator 1, you will be an essential part of our grants team. You will coordinate the initiation, submission, and tracking of less complex sponsored projects such as federal grants, foundation grants, and simple industrial contracts. Your role will ensure that submissions are compliant with university and sponsor regulations. You will collaborate with a diverse team of physicians, research scientists, and research staff, all working together in a supportive, inclusive work environment that prioritizes advancing reproductive health for all individuals. Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the preparation of routine grant and contract proposals according to guidelines and regulations. - Coordinating the submission process for proposals, both in paper and electronic form, ensuring completeness and compliance. - Understanding and advising faculty/staff on the terms and conditions of funding opportunities. - Preparing administrative forms and non-scientific supporting documents for grant proposals. - Developing, preparing, and finalizing project budgets and budget justifications. - Serving as a liaison between principal investigators, research groups, and other departments. - Managing the tracking of submitted proposals and collaborating with relevant units for successful post-award management. - Monitoring awarded projects for progress report deadlines and coordinating with PI and Finance for timely submission. - Contributing to process improvements and group projects. Desired qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or relevant coursework in public health, health administration, or a scientific discipline. - Prior work experience in a research or university environment. - Basic knowledge of scientific and medical terminology and concepts through prior coursework. Education and experience required: - Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience, or a combination of education and experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: - Ability to learn and stay updated about university and government policies for sponsored projects. - Understanding of grants processes and related terminology. - Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills. - Strong analytical skills, including expertise in Excel and web-based tools. - Knowledge of basic budget and accounting principles. - Ability to complete Cardinal Curriculum I and II while in the position. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to work independently while also seeking assistance when needed. - Excellent time management and organizational skills. Certifications and licenses: - Cardinal Curriculum I and II must be completed to remain in this position. Physical requirements: - Frequently sit, grasp lightly, use fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to ten pounds. - Occasionally stand, walk, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, write by hand, and sort and file paperwork or parts. - Rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 11-20 pounds. The expected salary range for this position is $63,000 to $90,000 per year, determined by factors such as scope of responsibilities, qualifications, departmental budget availability, and job market conditions.
