At our core, we believe in always finding a better way. The role of the First Assistant is to support the Press Operator in operating the main line offset presses unique to the Chalfont location. This department produces the main printed material for our internal Conversion/Finishing department and for other DMS locations. As a key contributor to our product, the operator ensures that our customers receive consistently high-quality printed images, allowing them to focus on their own priorities. Responsibilities: - Read and understand job instructions, press instructions, and make-ready checklists - Perform preventive maintenance on press equipment - Operate assigned press equipment safely and effectively - Maintain color to color registration, mount plates, change blankets, and remove finished rolls from the machine - Perform quality checks on every roll of product produced - Monitor and support the performance of the second assistants - Provide training and guidance to newly hired or promoted press crew members - Assist the Press Operator in maintaining production standards - Complete assigned duties and actively participate in safety programs - Continuously develop personal skills and knowledge Qualifications: Essential Skills: - Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines - Ability to multitask and adapt to changes - Proficiency in all aspects of running a press - Mechanical aptitude Supporting Abilities/Skills: - Self-motivated and proactive - Good communication and organizational skills - Prior experience in press operations is a plus Education/Experience: - Minimum 3 years of experience in pressroom production - Working knowledge of pressroom practices We offer excellent benefits to eligible employees, including 401(k), holidays, vacations, and more.
