    Main Responsibilities:

    • Ensure vehicles are safe and in good condition for our customers
    • Utilize Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
    • Perform preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement or rotation, lubrication and replacement of vehicle components, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
    • Work alongside supervisors to learn new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching
    • Complete other assigned projects and tasks as directed by your supervisor

    Qualifications:

    • Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair is a plus
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to solve problems and comfortable using tools
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to understand and comply with instructions, guidelines, and safety regulations
    • Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies
    • Regular and predictable attendance is essential
    • Willingness to work the required schedule, at the designated location, and complete the application process, including background screening, drug screening, and physical examination as required by the Department of Transportation
    • This position is regulated as safety-sensitive, and the ability to work attentively and safely is required. Associates must take responsibility for their safety and the safety of others.

    Physical Requirements: The physical and mental demands for this job include:

    • Frequent movement, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
    • Routine use of hands to operate tools or controls
    • Able to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
    • Capability to work in all weather conditions
    • Ability to see and hear in order to navigate the work environment safely
    • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
