    Job Description

    Job Summary : This job involves providing support to the Administration and Counselling Staff by performing secretarial tasks.

    Responsibilities and tasks include:

    • Assisting with typing, filing, emailing, and faxing student records and communication between parents and Administration.
    • Greeting and assisting students in Student Services.
    • Supporting Administration and Counsellors with various tasks such as scheduling student meetings and processing course changes.
    • Preparing and organizing reports related to counselling activities and the guidance department.
    • Backup support for the Building Secretary.
    • Assisting with general office duties.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous office experience required.

    Preferred Qualifications: Vocational or advanced training in office procedures desirable.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage office tasks effectively.
    • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
    • Ability to develop and maintain record systems.
    • Ability to communicate and interact with various individuals within and outside the district.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a helpful attitude.

    Salary: Please refer to the salary grid on Page 5, Section 1, and Classification, Pages 6 - 7, Section 3 of the Administrative Education Support Professionals (AESPs) contract.

    Work Schedule: This position requires working 212 days, 8 hours per day, and 40 hours per week.

    Bargaining Unit: This job is part of the Administrative Education Support Professionals (AESPs) bargaining unit.
