Job Title: Experienced Systems Engineers Job Code: CS20231508-104814 Job Location: Salt Lake City, UT Job Schedule: 9/80 (work nine days in two weeks) Job Description: L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is looking for Experienced Systems Engineers to join our team at our Salt Lake City facility. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and architecting communications systems and providing technical leadership for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This includes tasks such as customer briefings, proposal writing, and customer requirements management. You will be involved in the entire life-cycle of the systems, from conceptual development to product phase-out. This will involve tasks like technical documentation, project management, designing and building prototypes, testing, system deployment support, and providing technical support during the operational life of the system. Essential Responsibilities: - Lead and manage key engineering tasks for projects/programs. - Analyze requirements and assign them to the appropriate areas of responsibility. - Generate design documentation, technical specifications, test plans, and procedures. - Ensure technical performance, quality, and adherence to established policies and processes. - Present design reviews for internal and external audiences. - Assist in project/program schedule and budget planning, subcontract control, and risk management. - Lead or assist in managing systems engineering and design teams. - Coordinate system integration, verification, and qualification events. - Participate in customer requests for information (RFI) and proposals (RFP), including technical capability demonstrations. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of experience, OR - Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of experience, OR - Minimum of 8 years of experience without a degree. Preferred Qualifications: - Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance. - Experience in product development, particularly in military applications. - Experience in networking systems and lab work. - Hardware and/or software development and lab integration experience. - Leadership skills and ability to provide technical direction/vision. - Understanding of communication theory and knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design, or software design of communication systems. - Active Secret or Top Secret US DoD clearance, or ability to obtain one. - Experience in LTE, 4G, and 5G systems is desired. - Experience in requirements management and documentation, as well as risk management and project planning. - Strong communication skills, both written and oral. - Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, DOORs, or similar. - Experience with software programmable architectures. - Experience managing technical projects, including system integration, verification, and qualification.
