The responsibilities for this role include: - Being a central resource for information about patients' rights, advance directives, and ethical issues. - Serving as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients, when necessary. - Coordinating, investigating, and resolving patient grievances related to the quality of care and service through a formal grievance mechanism. - Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating patient concerns to improve our services. - Having a deep understanding of our organization's mission, policies, procedures, and services to effectively respond to patient questions and concerns. - Meeting all regulatory regulations and standards to ensure compliance. - Responding to potentially serious incidents and working to reduce potential legal issues. - Providing leadership and consultation to committees and departments that impact patient needs and rights. - Referring patients and their families to appropriate services and resources. - Leading efforts to include the patient and family experience in decision-making processes across the health system. - Facilitating patient and family meetings. - Being an expert in service recovery to address and resolve any issues patients may have. - Acting as an information resource for patients and their families. Required Experience - At least 5 years of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Education Requirements - High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
