    Job Description

    Are you looking for a rewarding career opportunity? The Division of Cardiology at Stanford School of Medicine is seeking a Research Administrator 3 to join our team.     As a Research Administrator 3, you will be an essential part of our division, providing financial support to our faculty and fellows in their research programs. You will play a vital role in managing grants and clinical trials, ensuring that our research initiatives continue to advance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and submit research proposals, resolving any issues that arise during the process
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations
    • Collaborate with various departments and research groups
    • Review and approve expenditures, ensuring compliance and accuracy
    • Create reports, forecasts, and decision-making tools
    • Manage contract closeout process and audit inquiries
    • Interpret complex policies and regulations
    • Identify and implement process improvements
    • Supervise and mentor finance team members

    The qualifications we are looking for include a master's degree in accounting or finance, as well as experience in grants management in an academic environment. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience may also be considered.

    We also require expertise in governmental regulations, excellent communication and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and web-based tools, and strong attention to detail. Knowledge of procurement needs, project management, and personnel management is also important.

    In return for your valuable contributions, we offer competitive compensation based on the location of the successful candidate, ranging from $82,000 to $126,000 per year. Stanford University also provides a comprehensive benefits package, which will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in accounting or finance with grants management experience in an academic environment

    Education & Experience (Required):

    • Bachelor’s degree and five years of job-related experience, or combination of education and relevant experience

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):

    • Expert knowledge of governmental regulations
    • Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate university policies and procedures
    • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and web-based tools
    • Knowledge of accounting principles
    • Knowledge of procurement needs and property management requirements
    • Expertise in project management
    • Knowledge of personnel management
    • Extreme attention to detail
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills

    Certifications & Licenses:

    • Cardinal Curriculum I and II must be completed for this position
    • Certified Accountant or Auditor, MBA, project management certification, or similar credential desired

    Physical Requirements:

    • Frequently sit, grasp lightly, use fine manipulation, and perform desk-based computer tasks
    • Occasionally stand, walk, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, write by hand, and sort and file paperwork or parts
    • Rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 11-20 pounds
