Responsibilities - The medical assistant provides direct and indirect care to patients in the ambulatory setting under the supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor. - You will be a member of the healthcare team, accepting appropriate delegation from registered nurses or physicians to meet patient and family needs. - You will follow care plans, organizational policies and procedures, and principles of relationship-based care. - Your tasks will be within the functions allowed for unlicensed healthcare personnel. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalent. - Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program. - If you graduated more than two years ago, you should have at least one year of recent medical assistant experience in a relevant setting. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Experience working in a team environment. - Computer proficiency, including experience with electronic medical record systems. - Ability to work daytime hours, with flexibility as needed. - Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations. License or Certification (specific to different locations) - Arizona: Basic Life Support (BLS) competency and active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required. - Florida: Basic Life Support (BLS) competency and active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred. - Midwest: Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred. Exemption Status - Nonexempt Compensation Detail - Hourly rate: $17.67 - $23.88 Benefits Eligible - Yes Schedule - Full Time Hours/Pay Period - 80 Schedule Details - Monday to Friday, clinic-based hours. Start and end times vary based on department need. Hours of operation are 7am-7pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 7am-5pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
