Job Title: Operational Risk Officer About the Role: The Operational Risk Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing operational risks within the organization. They work closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure effective controls, monitoring, and risk management of key processes. Their insights and analysis help identify trends, control failures, and operational loss event drivers to support continuous improvement. Responsibilities: - Foster strong relationships with the business as a valued and respected partner. - Stay up-to-date with the latest risk management techniques and industry best practices. - Support the development of risk and control related presentation materials for governance forums. - Analyze and report on systemic or thematic risks across the business. - Identify emerging operational risks through data analysis and assessment. - Challenge the business to establish robust risk indicators for mitigation. - Monitor key operational risks and indicators to ensure appropriate action is taken. - Participate in risk reviews and assessments to proactively identify risks and recommended actions. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Business or a related field. - 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on risk management. - Knowledge of consumer banking products and operations. - Familiarity with US consumer protection regulations and industry standards. - Strong analytical and conceptual skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Skills: - Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. - Strong data analysis skills. - Ability to work independently and provide credible challenge. - Effective team player and contributor. - Excellent presentation skills. - Experience with Tableau is a plus.
