    If you choose to work as an On-DemandTeam Member, you have the freedom to work as much or as little as you'd like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is perfect for those who prefer a flexible work schedule.

    As an On-Demand Team Member, you won't be included on the regular weekly schedule. Instead, you can create your own schedule by picking up shifts that are posted by leaders or other team members using our myTime mobile scheduling app. You have the freedom to choose shifts that best fit your schedule.

    We expect you to actively engage by picking up and working shifts, as well as responding to our attempts to contact you.

    We will reach out to you throughout the year to confirm your availability and interest in working shifts at Target. If we don't receive a response, your employment with Target will be administratively terminated.

    Regular attendance is essential, and you must work at least one shift within 6 months, or your employment will be administratively terminated.

    Effective communication and availability to work when the business needs you are crucial for success in this role.

    If you are offered a position as an On-Demand Team Member, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule to ensure you are prepared for your new role. After that, you can use the myTime mobile scheduling app to pick up shifts.

    ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT

    We are looking for individuals who prioritize providing exceptional guest experiences. As a Guest Advocate, you will welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction and recovery. You will also promote both physical and digital services and solutions, having knowledge about features that encourage guest loyalty. Your goal is to make shopping effortless and seamless for guests at various areas of the store.

    A typical day as a Guest Advocate may include the following responsibilities:

    • Demonstrating a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience
    • Greeting all guests in a welcoming manner
    • Observing and understanding when a guest needs assistance or wants to interact, and tailoring your approach accordingly
    • Genuinely engaging with guests by asking questions to better understand their specific needs
    • Having knowledge about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience
    • Expressing genuine gratitude to guests and letting them know we appreciate their choice to shop at Target
    • Efficiently scanning and bagging items while following food safety standards and best practices
    • Maintaining guest service and accuracy while minimizing wait time
    • Informing guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
    • Explaining the benefits of the Target RedCard and assisting guests with the application process
    • Being familiar with fulfillment services and guiding guests in enrolling, activating, and using them
    • Showing guests how to use Wallet and other features and offerings within the Target App
    • Handling returns and resolving guest concerns while following Target's policies and procedures
    • Providing easy and seamless service to guests using Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry services
    • Maintaining a clean work area and stocking supplies during store open hours
    • Demonstrating ethical conduct, safety, and compliance in all actions
    • Working safely to benefit yourself and others, identifying and correcting hazards, and complying with safety policies and best practices
    • Supporting guest services such as order pick up (OPU) and Drive Up (DU) and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations
    • Performing any other duties as required based on business needs

    • Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving items up to 15 pounds frequently, and items up to 40 pounds occasionally
    • Flexibility in working a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular attendance
    • If you choose to work as an On-Demand Team Member, you can determine your own availability, but we expect you to actively engage by picking up and working shifts via our myTime mobile app, and responding to our contact attempts. Failure to respond may result in administrative termination of your employment. You must work at least one shift within 6 months, or your employment will be administratively terminated.
