Responsibilities - Location: Domitilla 3D (DO3D), General Internal Medicine (General Care) - Patient Care Type: A general medical unit with electrocardiogram monitoring (ECG) available for patients - Bed #: 39 As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), you will provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the healthcare team. Your tasks may include monitoring and ordering supplies, promptly responding to patient call lights, assisting with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR), and effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff. You will be an essential resource to the healthcare team and familiar with Mayo Clinic resources. Your activities will complement the patient care model, and you will play a role in communication across the continuum of care. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and self-development in the role are essential. Additionally, you will support the team by anticipating and addressing their needs. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required - Basic computer knowledge and strong keyboarding skills necessary - Completion of HUC post-secondary program or HUC Certification preferred - Minimum one year of experience in a medical environment preferred - Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred - Proficiency in computer skills preferred, including EHR systems (EPIC) - Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills - Adaptability to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting - Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays - Maintains required certifications/licensure per work unit requirements Exemption Status: Nonexempt Compensation: $20.64 - $29.12 / hour Benefits Eligible: Yes Schedule: Full Time Hours/Pay Period: 72 Schedule Details: Sunday – Saturday; Day/Evening, 8 & 12-hour shifts Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend International Assignment: No Site Description Mayo Clinic has locations not only in Minnesota but also in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, Jacksonville, Florida, and other Midwestern communities.
