Responsibilities - As an HME Specialist I, you will have the opportunity to assist patients with selecting and using home medical equipment, based on the prescriptions provided by healthcare providers. - You will efficiently gather and process registration and insurance information for payment purposes, while maintaining compliance and confidentiality in handling patient information. - In addition, you will help maintain store inventory and perform inventory cycle counts as necessary. - Your responsibilities will also include providing patients with various medical supplies and equipment, such as mobility aides, CPAP machines, breast pumps, wound care supplies, and more, depending on the store location. - You may be assigned to work on the store floor or in a call center environment. Qualifications - A high school diploma or equivalent is required. - Prior experience in customer service, sales, healthcare, or patient care is preferred. - While prior DME experience is preferred, it is not required. - Effective communication skills in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, are necessary. - You should be comfortable using technology, problem-solving, and working with software applications. - Exceptional customer service and communication skills, along with professionalism and the ability to have crucial conversations, are essential. - The ability to multitask and make good decisions regarding customer service is crucial. - You should be able to work independently when needed. - Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or private insurance billing is preferred, with attention to detail. - The role requires physical and mental stamina, as it can often be fast-paced, requiring being on your feet or sitting for extended periods. - You must be able to tolerate repetitive hand motion and lift up to 50 pounds. - All applicable annual competencies must be current. - For positions requiring driving, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary. Exemption Status This is a nonexempt position. Compensation Detail The compensation for this position is $19.91 - $25.87 per hour. Schedule This is a part-time position. Hours/Pay Period You will work 40 hours per pay period. Schedule Details The schedule will vary between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Weekend Schedule There is no weekend schedule for this position. International Assignment No international assignment is required for this position.
