Research Postdoctoral Scientist - Tan Lab

The Tan lab is looking for a postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in social and health psychology, behavioral science, prevention science, public health, and/or epidemiology. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Dr. Tan to develop a training plan
• Collaborate on grant proposals, although generating grant funds is not your responsibility
• Participate in publications and presentations as a first author or co-author
• Design studies and perform analyses with guidance from the Principal Investigator
• Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols
• Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data
• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period
• Regularly meet with Dr. Tan to discuss research progress and plans
• Independently work on research projects within your area of specialization, under the mentorship of a designated mentor (usually the Principal Investigator)
• Acquire technical and theoretical knowledge of the research project and objectives during your one to five-year postdoctoral appointment
• Demonstrate aptitude in experimental protocols and procedures, including data collection, analysis, and operation of specialized equipment

Requirements:

• Doctorate (PhD or MD) in Social Psychology, Health Psychology, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
• Acquired thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project and objectives during one to five-year postdoctoral appointment
