    Production Welder I

    Job Title: Production Welder I

    Shifts:

    • Day Shift: 6:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday-Friday
    • Night Shift: 9:00 PM-6:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday

    About the Position:

    We are looking for a Welder I to join our team. As a Welder I, you will be responsible for welding components used to build Ditch Witch equipment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Read information from blueprints, technical manuals, or other documents.
    • Set up fixtures and mount parts for mechanical assembly, using hand and air tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
    • Use a hoist to lift and position large components and completed weldments.
    • Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment.
    • Remove components from fixtures, clean and check them for quality, and correct any errors or deficiencies.
    • Use a computer to check part location, inventory, routing, and record inventory transactions.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous MIG welding experience OR completion of a formal welding training program.
    • Ability to pass required entry-level plate test for production welding.
    • Mechanical skills and experience using hand and air-powered tools.
    • Basic reading, clerical, and math skills.

    Work Environment:

    • Manufacturing plant conditions with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt.
    • Use of personal protective equipment including welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection.
    • Physical hazards such as vehicle and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling.
    • Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.

    Essential Physical Functions:

    This job requires medium physical demands, including:

    • Handling items weighing over 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
    • Pulling or pushing items up to 50 pounds.
    • Handling items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
    • Handling items up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
    • Frequent walking, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
    • Continuous walking.
    • Occasional sitting and elevated work.
