We are currently hiring for the position of Assistant Dean for MD Financial Aid in Educational Programs and Services at Stanford University School of Medicine. This role is essential to our mission of providing a quality educational experience for all students and trainees. Job Purpose: - As the Assistant Dean for MD Financial Aid, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the Office of Financial Aid and implementing the vision and strategy of the Medical Education leadership at the School of Medicine. - You will work closely with senior management and different departments to address complex issues and ensure compliance with regulations. - Your goal will be to recruit and retain talented and diverse graduate students by enhancing our financial aid and scholarship programs. Core Duties: - Oversee a comprehensive financial aid program to meet the needs of our MD students. - Serve as a liaison between the School of Medicine Admissions office, the University’s financial aid office, and others to support the development and implementation of university policies and procedures. - Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term plans and policies. - Manage a team, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the financial aid landscape and communicate changes to stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, financial, university, academic, and accrediting regulations. - Manage an operating budget and administer multiple student loan programs. - Collaborate with university stakeholders, external contacts, and students. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. - Experience in a higher education setting is preferred. Skills and Abilities: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to internal and external audiences. - Strong analytical skills to review complex financial information. - Demonstrated leadership and strategic management abilities. - Experience managing people. - Understanding of technological needs and requirements. - Ability to work collaboratively. Desired Qualifications: - Related advanced degree highly desirable. - Management and supervisory experience highly desirable. - Certified Financial Planning Certificate. Physical Requirements: - The ability to perform desk-based computer tasks. - Occasional standing, walking, twisting, and using fine manipulation. - Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 10 pounds. Work Standards: - Demonstrates interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with colleagues and clients. - Promotes a culture of safety and values personal responsibility. - Expected to comply with relevant University policies and procedures.
