Responsibilities: - Coordinate non-clinical and clinical functions to allow clinical teams to focus on face-to-face patient encounters. - Tasks include receiving and rooming patients, handling medication prior authorizations, completing workers compensation paperwork, managing patient panels, faxing, proposing medications, equipment and room cleaning, and monitoring supply expiration. - Maintain appropriate levels of supplies, order and receive supplies, and route them as needed. - Demonstrate tact, patience, and strong organizational skills when interacting with healthcare team members and patients. - Use telecommunications equipment and computer efficiently. - Take initiative, demonstrate proficiency, and make good judgment to optimize the use of care teams' time with patients. - Strong communication skills, commitment to quality, and excellence in service are important for this role. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - One year of customer service experience. - Excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills. - Knowledge of computer ordering process and office equipment. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a changing environment. - Completion of vocational programs such as HUC, administrative clinic assistant, medical office, health care/medical receptionist, or nursing assistant course is helpful. - Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records is helpful. - Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required (can be obtained during orientation).
