    Dart Container is looking to hire Manufacturing Mechanical Technicians for our growing corporate engineering team to work in our Chicago facility. These individuals would help to support our paper processing equipment among other lines as needed. These roles would be responsible for assisting in the assembly, installation, set-up, operation, testing, and troubleshooting of our production equipment to ensure the machines are running at optimum efficiencies.

    50% Travel Required for this position

    Day-to-Day Role:

    • Set-up, operate, test, and troubleshoot moderately complex production equipment
    • Adhere to established tolerances and adjust machinery as required
    • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and bills of material
    • Diagnose and repair moderately complex mechanical equipment and instruments
    • Operate power and manual hand tools
    • Monitor instruments and equipment and collect operating data including calibration, inspection, testing, and repair activities to assist in making adjustments to instruments and equipment
    • Devise, fabricate, assemble, and disassemble new or modified mechanical components and machinery
    • Provide technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes
    • Maintain an adequate spare parts inventory and order new or replacement parts
    • Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
    • Mentor other team members
    • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
    • Follow practices and processes intended to
