    Admissions Coordinator - Full Time

    What You Will Do:

    The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for collecting and verifying personal and insurance information for accurate billing and clinical records. This position performs various job-related duties as assigned.

    Location: UAB Lab Kirklin Clinic

    Working Hours: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday (No Holidays)

    • Ensure accuracy of data elements
    • Provide excellent customer service
    • Gather complete and accurate demographic and financial information from patients, physicians, and departments
    • Obtain necessary signatures on legal consents and insurance forms
    • Perform pre-certification, credit referral, or deposit collection
    • Enter data into computer systems and update patient files
    • Communicate insurance coverage issues to patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors
    • Review physicians' orders for completion and compliance with Medicare regulations
    • Maintain knowledge of insurance rules and regulations
    • Provide assistance to callers and follow established scripts
    • Complete shift duties accurately and within specified timeframes
    • Comply with safety regulations and procedures

    What You Will Need:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting or medical office working with insurance websites

    What Would Be Nice To Have:

    • Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
    • Familiarity with medical terminology
