    About the team/role

    As the VP of Total Rewards at Checkr, you will report to the Chief People Officer and be responsible for overseeing our compensation and benefits programs. This includes salary programs based on location, executive bonuses, variable compensation, stock-based compensation, benefits strategy and administration. You will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo and design scalable Total Rewards programs that are simple, easy to understand, and embraced by our employees.

    What you'll do

    • Lead a growing Total Rewards team and shape the future of our compensation and benefits strategy
    • Approach decisions with an employee-centric mindset while balancing cost-effectiveness
    • Use data to inform your decision-making process
    • Proactively identify and address potential issues
    • Collaborate with C-staff members to align programs with company objectives
    • Work closely with other teams, such as Finance, Legal, and Payroll, to effectively manage and execute total rewards programs
    • Ensure compliance with compensation and benefits regulations and prepare materials for the Board and Compensation Committee
    • Be a thought leader within the People Team and contribute to various topics related to employee experience
    • Provide services that enhance the overall employee experience

    What you bring

    • Excellent people management skills and a commitment to employee development and engagement
    • A strong interest in Diversity & Inclusion
    • Experience in a public company
    • Awareness of industry best practices and ability to gather benchmarking data
    • Demonstrated success in project management and cross-functional collaboration
    • Familiarity with HRIS, Performance Management, and Compensation tools
    • Pre-IPO company experience is a plus
