Digital Nurse

Location:

Bethesda, MD

Job Summary:

We are currently hiring a Digital Nurse to provide support services for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). As a Digital Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to deliver services and support research protocols. This is a full-time position based in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Complete required documentation and maintain files for research protocols
• Implement clinical protocols
• Coordinate with Clinical Center nursing staff and fellows/clinical associates in the Hepatology Training program
• Interview and evaluate potential subjects for research participation
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies
• Recruit and provide clinical support for patients participating in research studies
• Design and maintain materials for health care referral sources
• Organize and maintain patient referral list and schedule
• Provide instruction and support to patients and caregivers
• Communicate research study information to physicians and potential participants
• Participate in direct patient care and create comprehensive care plans
• Obtain and record patient health histories and conduct physical assessments
• Manage clinical and research activities to ensure patient safety
• Collect and report data to regulatory agencies
• Perform quality assurance activities
• Coordinate regulatory documentation and reporting
• Enter and manage research data in databases
• Analyze data and prepare findings for presentation and publication
• Maintain patient files and databases
• Support the implementation of research protocols
• Train and mentor staff in research protocols
• Stay informed about current medical practices and research in relevant areas
• Identify and implement improvements in processes and patient care

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Nursing and current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
• CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on clinical protocols
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Med-Surg Nursing
• Proficiency in MS Office
