Hiawatha Academies is seeking a Language Access Operations Coordinator (Spanish) to join our team. We are dedicated to serving a diverse community of students and families, including elderly, refugees, people with visible and invisible disabilities, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and individuals from all walks of life. As a Language Access Operations Coordinator, you will be a key member of our Language Access and Support Team. Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting with the development, implementation, and management of language request structures and systems. - Supporting the development and distribution of staff and external communications on behalf of the Language Access and Support Team. - Providing Spanish/English language support for in-person, virtual, and phone meetings, parent phone calls, and other interactions. - Serving as a Language Site Coordinator on site at one campus for approximately 25% of your week. - Providing additional capacity for Spanish/English translations, such as parent-teacher text messages, letters to families, progress reports, and other documents. - Collaborating with the Language Access and Support Team and other subteams to develop staff training and resources for working with interpreters. - Working alongside the Spanish and Somali coordinators to support social workers in meeting urgent communication needs for families. - Providing general operations support for the Language Access and Support Team, including developing scheduling plans for events requiring interpretation, tracking interpreter performance/feedback, and conducting satisfaction surveys. To be successful in this role, you must have: - Fluency in both English and Spanish. - A high school diploma or GED. - A 40-hour training certificate in interpretation/translation or related field. - Minimum six months of experience providing interpretation/translation support. - Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills to build trust with colleagues, students, and families. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Zoom. It is highly preferred that you are registered and active on the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster. Previous experience in education or other social services fields that require flexibility and relationship-building is also desired. The salary range for this position is $46,000 - $60,000, and we offer a comprehensive benefits plan including medical, dental, life, and retirement.
