Job Title: Early Childhood and Family Education Coordinator General Purpose of Job: Our goal is to empower and support every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, to achieve their dreams, contribute to the community, and engage in lifelong learning. Description : - Coordinate and oversee Early Childhood & Family Education, School Readiness, and Preschool Screening Programs. - Seek and manage grants and funding for early childhood education. - Serve as a central point of contact for external agencies in matters related to early childhood education. - Promote communication and collaboration across all early childhood programs within the district. Strategic Leadership: - Align our work with the mission and values of our organization. - Develop and communicate a shared vision for our programs. - Continuously improve our programs to ensure high expectations for student achievement and a culturally competent environment. - Enhance the EC&FE program to provide opportunities for all families with children aged from birth to kindergarten. - Build a strong and inclusive community within our program, honoring diversity and cultural traditions. - Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant groups and organizations. - Conduct community needs assessments to inform future program planning. Instructional Leadership: - Support and develop the capacity of staff to excel in their roles. - Lead the hiring and supervision of direct reports. - Provide guidance, feedback, and evaluations to ensure high-quality performance. - Delegate tasks effectively and make decisions to meet project deadlines. - Plan and implement a relevant and rigorous curriculum connected to state early childhood indicators and parent education core curriculum. - Collaborate with teachers to analyze student and school data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance learning and close achievement gaps. - Promote reflective practice and action research to monitor and improve student learning. - Foster a team approach to teaching and learning by distributing leadership responsibilities and facilitating effective daily management practices. - Lead program planning, review, and evaluation. - Communicate regularly with staff to ensure effective teamwork. - Develop and implement marketing and outreach efforts to inform all district families about early childhood options. Management Skills: - Efficiently manage department resources. - Ensure compliance with policies and regulations. - Apply effective decision-making processes. - Maintain a safe environment for students and staff. - Supervise site maintenance, security, and building partnerships. - Develop and implement budgets aligned with district and school goals. - Seek alternative funding sources and write grant applications and reports. - Stay updated on state and federal reporting requirements. - Establish policies and procedures and maintain accurate program data. - Build partnerships with community organizations and city government. Interpersonal Skills: - Communicate ideas clearly in speaking and writing. - Encourage open communication and value feedback. - Show empathy and resolve conflicts effectively. - Demonstrate cultural responsiveness. - Engage families and stakeholders in meaningful dialogue about student learning and program needs. - Interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Required Work Experience: - Three years of relevant programming experience. Required Supervisory Experience: - Three years of relevant experience. Public school or community-based programming experience preferred. Licenses/Certifications: - Early Childhood or Parent and Family Education licensure required. - Minnesota Administrative License required. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: - Knowledge of early childhood programs. - Understanding of young children's developmental needs. - Strong organization and management abilities. - Ability to facilitate collaborative decision-making. - Proficient oral and written communication skills. - Capacity to work independently. - Familiarity with school accounting, budgeting, and program planning. - Ability to collaborate with a large school district system for early programming coordination.
