We are currently looking for Histology Technicians/Histotechnologists to join our team in the Histology Laboratory. As a member of this diverse and agile team, you will be responsible for preparing microscope slides for Pathologists to review. We use various techniques and equipment to make abnormalities visible with a microscope. Additionally, you will have opportunities to train students and new employees, foster an inclusive work environment, and partner with team members of different backgrounds and experiences. Histology Technician Responsibilities: - Perform technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations, such as accessioning specimens, specimen processing, microtomy techniques, and staining procedures. - Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed. Histotechnologist Responsibilities: - Prepare specimens and perform testing procedures on pathology specimens to create microscopic slide preparations for analysis by the pathologist. - Provide overall operational support for testing activities and accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, and on-call work assignments. Minimum pay rate: - Histology Technician: $24.75 per hour. - Histotechnologist: $30.25 per hour. Qualifications: Histology Technician (HT): - Associates Degree required. - Coursework including 12 credit hours in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology, and an additional 6 credit hours in chemistry and biology. - Histology Technician (HT) certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). Histotechnologist (HTL): - Bachelor's Degree. - Histotechnologist (HTL) certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). - Applicants needing visa sponsorship must possess CGFNS Visa Screen certification upon application.
