The Joel Griffin for Virginia Campaign is hiring canvassers to educate voters on Joel's platform, persuade undecided voters, and turn our supporters out to vote in the June 20th Democratic primary election. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg, Virginia. This is a part-time, entry level position and prior canvassing or political experience is not required to apply. Training on canvassing will be provided. Compensation is $15/hr. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through June 18th. Joel is a marine veteran, community advocate, and small-business owner. After 20 years of serving his country and opening a number of small businesses, he founded a company dedicated to supporting veteran entrepreneurs. After the death of his oldest daughter, Joel and his wife cofounded Gwyneth's Gift Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and educating people about CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators. He spent countless hours advocating and lobbying the state government to pass Gwyneth's Law, mandating CPR training in Virginia schools. Now, Joel is running for State Senate to stand up for the working families of Virginia and will fight tirelessly against the extremists in our government that threaten our peace and freedom. In the State Senate, Joel will create the good paying jobs we need; protect women's right to safe, legal abortion; strengthen and invest in our public schools; and work to reduce the cost of prescription drugs. Responsibilities include: * Door to door canvassing to communicate campaign messaging to voters. * Accurate and complete reporting of results using campaign technology. Qualifications: * Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to discuss political issues. * Commitment to values and beliefs of the Democratic Party. * Ability to canvass for multiple hours, including in rural areas of Virginia. * Ability to reliably commute to Fredericksburg. * Reliable access to a smartphone.
