    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant to join our team at Joey the Cat, a thriving arcade business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to perform various executive administrative tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining our financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting our CEO in daily operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain up-to-date financial records through regular bookkeeping and reconciliation of all income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable using Bill.com and Xero, processing an average of 30 bills monthly.
    • Handle monthly California sales tax form preparation and remittance.
    • Prepare and present financial statements monthly, including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Payout Liability Reports.
    • Assist with end-of-year tasks, such as 1099 filing for Independent Contractors and coordination with CPA for tax preparation.
    • Utilize software tools such as Xero, Dropbox, Expensify, and Bill.com efficiently, providing training and support as necessary.
    • Perform additional tasks including ordering inventory, scheduling meetings, booking assets, and overseeing various back-end operations.
    • Manage merchant bank deposits and credit card payouts, including tracking liability per client.
    • Coordinate monthly profit-sharing processes, including bill creation in Xero and payment processing in Bill.com.
    • Ensure accurate sales tax management and filing in California, including training on Expensify for receipt management or continuation with Expensify as preferred.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in bookkeeping and executive assistance, preferably in a similar industry.
    • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero or Quickbooks, and familiarity with Bill.com, Expensify, and Dropbox.
    • Strong understanding of financial principles and ability to prepare detailed reports.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Compensation:

    • Competitive salary based on experience. Starting @ $35/hr.
    • Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work.
