  • Responsibilities

    The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation is seeking a part-time Communications Specialist to assist in the day-to-day operations of the marketing and communications office. The individual will spend most of their day working to push forward digital communications to the public and media.

    This is a non-exempt part-time position (approximately 16-18 hours per week) between $20-$24/hour based on experience, and the successful individual will be compensated on an hourly basis. The job would be a standard weekday position with occasional night and weekend work for special events. Benefits include free parking, free admission to local museums and zoos, and store discount. Benefits for part-time positions do not include health or retirement plans.

    Responsibilities will include: 

    • Assist with the day-to-day digital campaign management across social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
    • Engage with Exhibits, Education, and other Museum teams to identify and create stories, campaigns, promotions and other messaging of interest to social media followers
    • Assist with compiling monthly reporting analysis of campaign performance metrics
    • Assist with campaign strategy development, including proposal development

     Preferred Requirements: 

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Basic understanding and use of the Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Photoshop and Premiere
    • Previous experience with editing and exporting photos and videos for delivery across a wide range of channels: YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, IGTV, and Instagram and Facebook Stories.
    • Experience managing social media accounts and creating content
    • Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects on tight deadlines. 
    • Strong research skills required to develop postings from the Library exhibits and archives
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including ability to analyze data and create engagement plans.
    • Ability to work across teams fluidly
    • Enthusiasm and desire to make an impact on a mission-driven team
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
