    Johnson Becker, PLLC seeks to protect the rights of the wrongfully injured and guide our clients through every step of their case, including the final steps of a settlement process. Our Settlement Team is committed to achieving the best possible result for our clients. We looking to add a team member with the same commitment.

    The settlement process is extremely detail-oriented and requires a Legal Assistant with excellent organizational and strong client-communication skills, keen attention to detail, and compassion. There is little room for error when dealing with client funds, so we need an attentive and dedicated Legal Assistant on the Settlement Team.

    **Job Responsibilities & Requirements: **

    As a Legal Assistant in the Settlement Department, you would work very closely with the attorneys on all aspects of the settlement process from lien resolution through distribution of settlement funds. After sufficient training, you would be responsible for handling the settlement process for each case or group of cases. The attorney working on that settlement would come to you for all the details regarding that group of cases. You would be responsible for gathering and reviewing information on clients’ health insurance and bankruptcy status (if applicable), maintaining and tracking the progress of each settlement, communicating with clients via letters, emails, and phone calls, and assisting clients with the numerous stages of the settlement process and helping them understand the intricacies of this process. This role also involves working with outside vendors in the lien resolution process and working with other firms on bankruptcy and estate issues.

    The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of empathy, strong verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in analyzing and presenting data, and maintain a high level of organization and effective time management. Must be able to work autonomously as well as participate in a collaborative team environment. This is an ideal position for someone who seeks to have hands-on involvement in the resolution stage of a case and ownership in the outcomes of their work.

    Location: Downtown St. Paul

    Pay is based on experience.

    Hours of work are FULL TIME from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
