    As a Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision.  You will assist client and project managers with a variety of civil engineering projects for our public works, commercial, industrial, and manufacturing clients.  The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering all project objectives for assigned tasks including preparing construction contract documents (plans, specifications, cost estimates), preparing written technical memoranda, and will be expected to coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and internal staff.  The candidate will also act as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
    • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
    • Perform design computations
    • Design projects in an accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software include AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Micro Station, GEOPAK
    • Develop construction cost estimates
    • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents including roadway plans, site plans and related details
    • Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
    • Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
    • Prepare proposals as required
    • Attend meetings with clients
    • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completions by the defined deadlines and established quality

    Required Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Excellent written and communication skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET accredited engineering program
    • Professional Engineer License is preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in Civil Engineering
    • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and MicroStation
    • Experience working with Greater Cincinnati based clients at the city, county and state level preferred

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS 

    Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. 

    Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
